There are still a few days to book up the Paris and Madrid Marathons if you have not managed to get yourself organised yet for this April but if you are organised the focus is now on some very exciting events coming up in the autumn. NEW YORK - NOVEMBER 7 Reservations placed with us for the ING New York City Marathon are way ahead of this time last year - we have over 500 signed up with us already and only 300 places remain. We recommend that you book early since the remaining places are likely to be snapped up as soon as the International lottery closes in March. Once the lottery is closed the only way of getting an entry for this years New York City Marathon is through the approved International Travel Partners - we're proud to be an approved ITP for the UK but even so space is limited to 800 runners and once they are gone they are gone and you'll have to wait until November 2011 to run the Big Apple. Our entries are guaranteed as long as travel is booked with us - no lottery doubt - when you sign up you are in the New York Marathon - simple as that. So, don't delay if you want to run the World's Best Marathon this year. VENICE AND ATHENS MARATHONS - LATE OCTOBER These two classics are having very different birthdays - Venice is celebrating 25 years while Athens is celebrating 2,500 years! Athens will be using the traditional, you could say The Classic route from Marathon to Athens, while Venice, for one year only, has permission to deviate the finish to run right through St Mark's Square, which will be truely spectacular. MOTOR HEADS - BROOKLANDS 10KM & 1.5KM JUNIOR RUN - MARCH 28 Our next UK event is on the futuristic circuit at Mercedes-Benz World at Brooklands, Weybridge on March 28th. We have simplified the route this year, taking the long panhandle section up and down the access road out and we now have a much neater 2-lap route that will take you around the skid-pan twice - but don't panic - the sprinklers are turned off and you won't be spinning out of control into the crash barriers. NUNS, MONKS AND PILGRIMS May is a busy month for our UK race programme, kicking off on May 2nd with Sister Act-The Nuns Run in London - it's a chance to dress up and enjoy a route passing amongst surprised tourists along the Thames Paths from County Hall/Tower Bridge. On May 9th we're in Tewkesbury for the Tewkesbury Half Marathon and 5 mile fun run, which finishes beside the famous Abbey, and on May 23rd we're in Canterbury for the Pilgrims Hospices Canterbury Half Marathon - you can see the Catherdral from the start and finish but the joy of the route is the very scenic ramble passing through the Garden of England. There will be a wide ability range from club runners to runners raising much needed funds for the Pilgrims Hospices. We don't expect Monks to be running in Tewkesbury or Pilgrims in Canterbury - but if you can't resist then you're welcome to come in your robes - well, even if you don't like dressing up these are still the events for you! TURBO X RESCHEDULED TO MAY 15 Harry Potter caused the rescheduling of the first Salomon Turbo X of the year - well, strictly speaking, the set contractors damaged the access tracks so we couldn't get the cars in but we're going to blame Harry Potter all the same. The race has been rescheduled for Saturday 15th May and entries have been opened up again - so if you couldn't make the original date but can make the revised date you now have the chance to enjoy the Turbo X experience. The Turbo X Race is followed the next weekend by the Salomon Keswick Trail 10km on a route that got rave reviews on Runner's World last year.
