There can be few more impressive cities to run around than Rome and with spring in Italy bringing lovely warm weather this is a great spring marathon choice - and voted as the top choice by Runner's World survey of city marathons.  

For 2011 we are pleased to announce that 2:09 Events have been made the sole Official Agent in the UK for the Rome Marathon and the organisers of the marathon will make a number of benefits such as a special recovery area at the finish for our runners that will not be available to other runners.

Historians of our sport will know that this is where great Abebe Bikila won the Olympic Marathon in bare feet on the cobbled streets of Rome. You can follow in the great mans footsteps on a traffic free route that takes you around all of the sights of the eternal city.

The race has a time limit of 7hrs 30mins.

Itinerary

Friday 18 Mar: Arrival on own flights into Rome. Check in to the 4-star Hotel Beverely Hills on Bed and Breakfast basis.

Saturday 19 Mar: At leisure in Rome - race registration. Two night option arrivals.

Sunday 20 Mar: The Rome Marathon starts at 9am.

Monday 21 Mar: Flights under own arrangements

Own Flights

There's a wide choice of regional flights available to Rome. We are unable to include airport-hotel transfers for clients arriving on their own flights.

Transfers by Bus from Leonardo Da Vinci Airport are €9, Train to Rome Central Station €9.50 and taxi approx €40.

There is an elegant wood-panelled restaurant on the ground floor, offering both Italian and international cuisine.

Exterior

This is a very well maintained American-style building, with large glass doors at the entrance.

Lobby

The lobby is large and decorated in soft, warm colours that create a cosy and comfortable atmosphere. It has a red carpet and wood-panelled walls with columns surrounded the room. There is particular care for every detail. The sitting area is composed of coloured sofas, dark coffee tables and green or brown carpets.
