20 SEP 2009-27 SEP 2009: SUMMER ALGARVE TRAINING WEEK
DETAILS OF THE EVENT PASSED
Backing up our very successful Spring Training weeks on the Algarve we are pleased to return for a late summer break.
The weather in the Algarve is perfect in late September, temperatures in the mid to late 20's are normal, combined with the perfect running terrain around Falesia, with its choice of cliff top runs, trails through fields of oranges and in the Natural Park, the Almond Blossom cross country circuit and an all weather track, and you have the ingredients for the perfect camp.
Who's it For?
We have timed this camp for those aiming at an autumn or winter marathon or as a final hard weeks training before the Great North Run. It is suitable for all standards as you will be split into ability groups so that you always train with others of the same standard, whether that is 5 or 12+ mins per mile, with a training plan that is geared to your ability.
All aspects of training will be covered, from long runs, to tempo running and intervals, stretching, diet and recovery. There will be time for individual consultations as well as group seminars.

Accommodation
There are two levels of accommodation:
Falesia Apartments: These rather basic, but clean and functional apartments are the original apartments for athletes coming to the Algarve for training over the years. We have been using them for 20 years and recognise they are basic, but they offer a very relaxed training environment where you can sit out on the grass of the very quiet site during the day, leave running kit hanging out to dry and generally enjoy the sociable atmosphere.
Each studio room has 2-single beds, a small kitchen area with hob with 2-electric rings, refrigerator and basic cutlery, crockery and pans. There is a separate bathroom with bath and shower over; hot water is provided by electric storage heaters in each room. Arrangements on room only basis.
Stella Maris: This new 4-star Apartment Hotel is located on the other side of the track and offers studio, 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments in a traditional hotel set-up. The hotel is very modern and rooms of a good standard, e ach with equipped kitchen and separate bathroom.
The hotel has a restaurant, bar and a pool adjacent to the trackside.
Prices
The prices are based on land package only - you need to book your own flights. The Land package includes accommodation as stated, use of track, cross country course and gym, car hire (based on 2 sharing) or airport transfers, welcome cocktail and final BBQ.
The Camp Fee of £95 covers all coaching activities. The non- participant fee covers t-shirt and social activities.
