Put runners in fancy dress and suddenly a run around the park becomes 10 times more fun.
This is definitely the case with the London Santa Run - there is a certain hilarity watching 2000 Santa's set off and the bewildered children watching on in total confusion.
The Santa Run is organised to raise funds for Disability Snowsport UK, a national charity helping people with disabilities to access snowsport. Children and adults with a range of disabilities including cerebral palsy, Down's syndrome, visual impairment and autism can access programmes across the UK to enable them to make friends, improve their confidence and have fun through a sport which they would otherwise be excluded from. The charity asks that those taking part in this event raise sponsorship from friends, family and colleagues to help them to continue with their valuable work. This year, there will be prizes available to those who raise over £250, and a star prize for the individual who raises the most money. See http://www.disabilitysnowsport.org.uk/ for further details.
The run entry fee includes your santa suit which you will collect on the day.
