26 SEP 2009: LONDON PEACE RUN - CITY OF LONDON
DETAILS OF THE EVENT PASSED
|
The London Peace Run returns as one of the highlights of the London Week of Peace at the new venue at Minster Court in the heart of the City. The 'Urban' route will take in sections of the Thames Path on the south of the river before crossing Southwark Bridge and running along the Thames Path on the north of the river before crossing back over Blackfriar's Bridge and returning along the river to the city again.
This is a run that will use footpaths and pavements throughout, with stairs at Southwark and Blackfriar's bridges so it should be considered a community run rather than a race.
The junior runs will be on a 1.5km loop around Minster Court area and runners can opt to run once or twice around for a 1.5km or 3km option.
London Week of Peace is an annual week of high profile events, initiatives and action aiming to promote community cohesion, safety and peace across the capital.
Under the banner, Reconcilliation, Celebration, Collaboration, tens of thousands of Londoners from all walks of life will participate in a range of citywide and local activities - the London Peace Run has quickly become one of the key events delivering these aims.
Location: Minster Court, Fenchurch Street, City of London
Start Time: 4.30pm
Medals to all finishers
