26 SEP 2010: BERLIN MARATHON - A RUNNER'S WORLD TRAVEL COLLECTION EVENT
Berlin has long been renowned for its slick organisation and fast course - which it certainly is at the elite end with a role of honour the includes the first sub-2.20 by a women, the first sub-2.05 and in 2007 we saw Haile Gebrselassie improve Paul Tergats mark with a new world best of 2.04.26......then, just to prove he is by far the best, Haile took the record under 2.04 in 2008. He won again 2009, but this time not with a world record - surely, sub-2 will come in the next generation of East Africans and probably in Berlin.
The event is just as good for those further down the field, with the route passing through famous and infamous districts on excellent roads and finally passing through the Brandenburg Gate, that symbol of the old divide between east and west to the finish 400m beyond.

Itinerary
Fri 24 Sep Arrive in Berlin off a morning flight from LHR and transfer by coach to registration to collect your race number and then on to your hotel - or, book your own flights to Berlin and we will apply a £190 discount to the full package price (transfers are not included if you book your own flights)
Sat 25 Sep International Breakfast run and time to discover Berlin
Sun 26 Sep We make our way to the start after an early breakfast - it is a short walk from our hotel (15mins) as the hotel is located adjacent to the 41km point on the route.
Mon 27 Sep Check-out of the hotel. If you have travelled on our group flights we will tranfer you back to the airport for the flight home (if you booked your own flight you should make your own transfer).

MELIA HOTEL BERLIN****
We are pleased to move our groups into one of Berlins newest and most central hotels, the Melia Hotel Berlin.
Opened in October 2006 and located on the River Spree and a short walk from the Brandenburg Gate, Museum Island, Friedrichstadtplatz Theatre and Alexaderplatz.
The hotel is very bright and modern, all rooms have en suite luxury bathrooms with heated floor, bath robe and hair dryer, Flat screen satellite TV, air conditioning, telephone, safe, mini bar, and wi fi.
The hotel has two restaurants, bar and also features a health club with a sauna (great for after the race).
American buffet breakfast is included.
