Venice Marathon |
25th Anniversary Year.
Venice is one of the great destination marathons - there can be nothing more amazing than the last kilometres along the lagoon and over the special pontoon across the Grand Canal as you pass St. Marks Square to finish at the Palazzo Ducale.
2:09 Events have been made the exclusive Travel Partner of the Venice Marathon and all race entries are guaranteed along with:
- A private bus to the start straight from your hotel (no fighting to get on the crowded event buses - it makes a big difference).
- Watertaxi back from the finish for Hotel Plaza
- VIP seating at the finish for non-running partners
- Pre-race dinner on Saturday night
- Early breakfast on race day
- Registration just 500m from the hotel.
The Event
The race starts 26miles outside Venice at Stra where you assemble infront of the impressive Villa Pesani before running through the beautiful Riviera del Brenta, you will arrive at the long causeway and cross into the centre of Venice crossing some of the famous canal bridges until you pass St marks square and finsih at the Palzzzo Ducale.
This year we have a choice of three hotels; for our main option, located near registration in Mestra and with a bus directly from the hotel to the start we have the 4-star Hotel Plaza, and in Venice centre a 3 and 4-star option with transport to the start from the bus station on Piazzale Roma.

We have a 3-night tour with transfer to your chioce of hotel, the 4-star Hotel Plaza in Mestre, close to the Exposport for registration and also the railway station that will whisk you into the heart of Venice in 10mins or our two central hotels the 3-star Hotel Continental and 4-star Hotel Amadeus.
Fri 22 Oct Arrival at Venice Marco Polo. Our group allocation with BA is sold out and we recommend you book your own flights with BA or EasyJet - clients arriving on the BA or EasyJet flights will be collected from the airport and transferred to the hotel for 3-nights on B&B basis. Clients arriving in Treviso on Ryanair will need to make their own transfer.
Sat 23 Oct Race registration and pasta party.
Sun 24 Oct Transfer to the start in Stra and return transfer to Mestre after the race.
Mon 25 Oct Transfer to Venice Marco Polo Airport for the return flights.
Transfers are included for flights leaving Marco Polo Airport but not for clients arriving on Ryanair into Treviso.

Hotel Plaza Mestra****
We will be staying at the modern 4-star Hotel Plaza located across the causeway from Venice in Mestre. The hotel is conveniently located in the centre of the town and opposite the railway station that will take you to Venice Centre in 10mins. A short walk to the race expo and registration.
All rooms at the Plaza have bathrooms en suite, hairdryer, air conditioning, cable TV and mini bar. The hotel has a restaurant and bar. Buffet breakfast is included.
Hotel Continental***
Facing the Grand Canal and near the central railway station and Piazzale Roma, where the bus to the start departs, All rooms have bathroosm en suite, colour TV and air conditioning.
Hotel Amadeus****
Located approx five minutes on foot from the Railway Station and 10mins from Piazzale Roma. The hotel rooms are in Venetian style but renovated recently with a modern flair. All rooms have bathrooms en suite, colour TV and air conditioning.
