Hyatt Regency Addis Ababa
The 5-star Hyatt Regency is one of Addis Ababa's finest hotels. It is the official hotel of the Great Ethiopia Run International 10K and hosts the event team and many of the elite athletes. Located just 15 minutes from Bole International Airport it is centrally located on Meskel Square, where the 10K starts. It is also a short walk from the United Nations Conference centre, the presidential palace and many government and business offices.
All guest rooms come with air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a kettle, private bathrooms, a shower, a hairdryer and a desk. The hotel features a bar, garden, fitness room, outdoor swimming pool and sauna as well as a 24-hour front desk and room service. Your booking includes a sumptuous daily breakfast.

FRIDAY 20 NOVEMBER
Welcome to Ethiopia. International flights from the UK often arrive early in the morning local time, our representative will be at Addis Ababa airport to welcome you and transport you to the Hyatt Regency Hotel, one of Addis Ababa's finest hotels, where we have made a reservation for you. Check in time is at 2pm so on arrival at the hotel there will be coffee and a light breakfast and you can join us for a short walking tour around Addis Ababa. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
SATURDAY 21 NOVEMBER
It's an early start today as we head up to the Entoto Forests above Addis Ababa for the Entoto Sunrise 3k. The transport from the hotel leaves at 5.45am and our guides will meet us at 6.30am to run at your own pace along trails and running routes that are familiar to most of Ethiopia's world class distance runners. It's a short run and we'll transport you back to the hotel in good time for breakfast. You can pick up your race packs for the 10km from the race office which is inside the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
SUNDAY 22 NOVEMBER
Today is race day for the Great Ethiopian Run International 10km presented by Bank of America. After breakfast walk out to the race start near Meskel Square. The race starts in two waves with the first wave leaving at 8am and the second at 8.10am. If you are looking for a time - remember Addis Ababa sits at altitude - then you should be in wave one. Wave two is sometimes called the 'Fun Wave' and will give you more time to soak up the atmosphere and experience this incredible race. It is still predominantly a local race and less than one per cent of competitors are internatinal runners, so you will certainly stand out in the field!
You can celebrate your run at the post-race lunch at Hyatt Regency with other international guests and runners. The rest of the day is at your leisure
MONDAY 23 NOVEMBER
Unless you have extended your stay, today is departure day and it's time to say goodbye to Ethiopia. Check out of the hotel is at midday. We will arrange your transfer back to the airport for your flight home
