The Vienna City Marathon 2027 invites runners from around the world to experience one of Europe’s best and oldest marathon courses. Taking place in Austria’s capital, the race has a fast, flat route. From the Danube and historic Ringstrasse to the magnificent Schönbrunn Palace, it creates a fantastic setting for this race. The race dates back to the first running boom in the early 80s, was first run in 1984 and Covid aside has been run continuously for 41 years. The 2027 race will be the 42nd edition and with its inclusion in the new Marathon Classics series, it has never been more popular. The race sold out its general entry in record time but we guaranteed entries to both the marathon and half marahton as part of our hotel and entry packages.

Saturday, April 17
Book your own flight to Vienna and make your way over to the ARCOTEL Kaiserwasser Wien. On arrival make your way down to the EXPO to pick up your race pack and number. Please make sure you arrive at a reasonable time on Satuday as the EXPO closes at 6pm and you have to collect your own number in person.
In the evening take a stroll around Vienna, carbo load in one of the nearly restaurants and get an early night in preparation for the race!
Sunday, April 18
It is race day, after an early breakfast make your way over to the start line. Our hotel is located about ten minutes from the start line, all you will need to do is walk! The first wave goes off at 9am with the last leaving at 9.33am
Spend the evening celebrating your achievement. The evening is at your leisure.
Monday, April 19
Now the marathon is behind you you can spend the day exploring this wonderful city. If you have booked an evening or late afternnon flight the hotel will hold luggage while you explore. Fly out of Vienna and head home!
